White-label and reseller settings
If you resell agencms to your own clients, you can replace the agencms branding with your own. Your clients then sign in to a dashboard that shows your name, your logo, your colors, and your domain. This page explains what white-label covers, what your end-clients see, and how branding gets set up.
Is white-label available to you
White-label is an optional, plan-based feature. It only applies when two things are true:
- The platform has white-label turned on.
- Your organization is on a plan that includes white-label branding.
If your plan does not include it, the dashboard keeps the standard agencms branding. White-label appears as a feature on plans that support it, listed as "White label branding". See Plans and subscriptions to check what your plan includes.
White-label branding stays active only while you have a valid, active subscription on a white-label plan. If that subscription lapses, your clients fall back to the standard branding.
What your end-clients see
When white-label is active and a client visits your branded dashboard, the following are replaced automatically:
- App name — your organization name (or a custom app name) shows in the sidebar instead of "AgenCMS".
- Logo — your uploaded logo replaces the default mark in the sidebar and on the sign-in screen.
- Primary and accent colors — your brand colors are applied to the dashboard and the sign-in screen.
- Support email — your support address is used in place of the platform default.
- Email sender — system emails go out under your "from" name and address.
Your clients work inside the same dashboard at /dashboard, build websites under /dashboard/websites/{website}/..., and manage their account under /settings/... — exactly as documented elsewhere. Only the branding around them changes.
Branding fields
White-label branding is configured from these fields:
- Logo — a public image file shown in the dashboard and sign-in screen.
- Primary color — a hex color used as your main brand color.
- Accent color — a hex color used as a secondary brand color.
- Support email — the address clients are pointed to for help.
- Mail from name — the sender name on outgoing system emails.
- Mail from address — the sender address on outgoing system emails.
- App name — defaults to your organization name. If no custom name is set, the organization name is used.
If you do not upload a logo, the default mark is shown tinted with your primary color. If you do not set a color, the standard dashboard colors are used.
Your dashboard domain
You can give your clients a dashboard on your own hostname, for example dashboard.youragency.com, instead of the agencms address.
- Choose the hostname you want to use for your dashboard.
- Point that hostname at the platform using a DNS record (your platform contact provides the target).
- The hostname must be verified before it serves your branded dashboard. Until it is verified, requests to it do not load your white-label dashboard.
Branding is matched by hostname. When a client visits your verified dashboard hostname, agencms looks up the matching reseller and applies your branding. Visiting the platform's own address shows standard branding, not yours.
This is different from the custom domains feature, which controls the public domain of a published website. The dashboard hostname here is the address your clients use to log in and manage their sites.
Setting it up
Reseller branding and the dashboard hostname are configured by the platform team in the admin area, not from the regular client dashboard. To get set up:
- Make sure your organization is on a white-label plan.
- Provide your branding: organization or app name, logo, primary and accent colors, support email, and your mail "from" name and address.
- Provide the dashboard hostname you want to use, and complete DNS verification.
Once your hostname is verified and your subscription is active, your clients see your branded dashboard automatically. No action is needed on each client account.
Troubleshooting
- Clients still see agencms branding. Confirm your white-label subscription is active and your dashboard hostname is verified. Branding only loads on a verified hostname.
- Logo not showing. Re-upload the logo; a missing logo falls back to the default mark tinted with your primary color.
