Data export and account deletion

This page shows you how to download a full copy of your account data and how to permanently delete your account. Both live under your account settings, and account deletion gives you a grace period in case you change your mind.

Export your data

You can request a download of everything tied to your account. The export includes your profile information, activity history, settings, and any content you have created. It is packaged as a ZIP archive.

  1. Go to Settings > Export data (/settings/export).
  2. Read the summary under Data export so you know what the archive contains.
  3. Select Request data export.
  4. The button changes to Export in progress... while your archive is prepared.

When the archive is ready, you receive an email with a secure download link.

The download link in your email expires after 48 hours, for security. If it expires before you download the file, just request a new export from the same page.

The Export data page also shows your Last exported date once you have run at least one export, so you can tell when you last grabbed a copy.

Schedule account deletion

Deleting your account is permanent, but it does not happen instantly. When you schedule deletion, your account is deactivated right away and then permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period. You can cancel any time during those 30 days.

Before you confirm, know that scheduling deletion will:

  • Permanently remove all your data and files after the grace period
  • Cancel your subscription immediately
  • Revoke your organization memberships
  • Stop your API keys from working immediately

To schedule deletion:

  1. Go to Settings > Account deletion (/settings/deletion).
  2. Under Delete account, enter your password in the Confirm your password field.
  3. Tick the checkbox confirming you understand the account will be permanently deleted after 30 days and cannot be reversed after the grace period.
  4. Select Schedule account deletion.

Your account is deactivated immediately and the 30-day countdown begins.

Cancel a scheduled deletion

If you have a deletion scheduled, the Account deletion page changes to show a countdown instead of the delete form.

You will see:

  • The exact date your account and data will be permanently deleted
  • A days remaining counter

To stop the deletion and keep your account:

  1. Go to Settings > Account deletion (/settings/deletion).
  2. Select Cancel deletion.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, select Cancel deletion again to confirm. (Choose Go back if you change your mind.)

Once cancelled, your account and data remain fully intact.

Things to keep in mind

  • After the 30-day grace period ends, deletion is final and your data cannot be recovered.
  • Export your data before scheduling deletion if you want to keep a copy.
  • Deletion affects your whole account, including your subscription, organization memberships, and API keys. See Subscription and billing and API keys for what changes.
