Websites overview

A website is the top-level container for everything you build in agencms. Each website has its own pages, posts, forms, themes, and settings, and you manage them all from one workspace. This page explains how websites are organized and how to move between them.

What a website is

A website holds all the content and configuration for one site you are building:

  • Pages built in the visual builder
  • Posts organized by post type (such as blog or product)
  • Forms and their submissions
  • Themes that control fonts, colors, and default templates
  • Templates, redirects, and custom code snippets
  • Its own settings, locale, and optional custom domain

Every website belongs to an owner. The owner is either you (a personal website) or an organization. The owner determines who can access the site and which plan limits apply.

Finding your websites

Go to /dashboard/websites to see all the sites you can access. Each website appears as a card showing its name, slug, owner, publish status (Published or Draft), and quick counts for pages, posts, and forms. Click a card to open that website's workspace.

If you do not have any sites yet, you will see a "No websites yet" prompt with a button to create your first one.

The website workspace

When you open a website, you land on its workspace at /dashboard/websites/{slug}. The workspace is the home base for that single site and gives you:

  • A hero header with the website name and status
  • Quick-access tiles for Pages, Templates, Forms, Post Types, Posts, Themes, Redirects, and Custom Code
  • A Site readiness checklist showing your remaining setup steps
  • Recent pages and Recent posts lists so you can jump back into recent edits

Each tile takes you to that area for the current website, for example /dashboard/websites/{slug}/pages.

Switching between websites

You can have more than one website and move between them at any time.

  1. Open the website switcher at the top of the sidebar. It shows the current website's name and slug.
  2. Click it to open the dropdown of all your websites.
  3. Choose a website to switch to it, or click Create website to start a new one.
  4. The Settings item in the same dropdown opens settings for the current website.

Switching changes the active website for your whole dashboard, so navigation and content stay scoped to the site you picked.

Creating a website

  1. Click New website on the Websites page, or Create website in the switcher.
  2. Enter a Name and a Slug. The slug is auto-formatted to lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes.
  3. Choose an Owner (yourself or an organization).
  4. Click Create website.

Plan limits and website capacity

The number of websites you can create depends on your plan, and limits are tracked per owner. On both the Websites page and the create screen, each owner shows how many website slots remain.

When an owner reaches its limit, you will see a notice that it is full. From there you can:

  • Switch to a different owner that still has capacity, or
  • Add capacity / buy more website capacity if you manage billing for that owner.

If you do not manage billing, the notice asks you to contact the billing owner to buy more website capacity. To review or change capacity, open /settings/subscription and look for the website capacity options.
