Canceling your subscription
This page explains how to cancel your subscription, what changes about your access, and how to resume if you change your mind. You cancel from your account settings, and you keep full access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Before you start
You need permission to manage billing.
- On a personal account, you manage your own billing.
- On an organization workspace, only the organization owner can cancel. If you are a member without billing access, you will see a note that only the owner can change billing.
How to cancel
- Go to Settings > Subscription at
/settings/subscription. - Find your current plan card at the top of the page.
- Select Cancel subscription.
- A confirmation dialog appears. It tells you the date your access ends and reminds you that you can resume anytime before then.
- Select Cancel subscription again to confirm, or Keep subscription to back out.
Cancellation does not ask for a reason, and it does not charge or refund you at the moment you cancel. Your plan simply stops renewing.
What happens to your access
When you cancel, your subscription enters a grace period instead of ending right away.
- You keep full access to every feature until the end of the current billing period.
- The subscription card shows an Ending badge, and a banner tells you the exact date your subscription cancels.
- Your plan will not renew or bill again after that date.
After the cancellation date passes, your subscription is ended and you lose access to paid features.
What happens to your website data
Your website data is not deleted immediately when your subscription ends.
- After the cancellation date, your data is retained for a grace period (14 days by default).
- During the grace period, the Subscription page shows the scheduled deletion date.
- If you renew before that date, your data is kept.
- If you do nothing, your website data is scheduled for permanent deletion on the date shown.
If you want to remove your data sooner, or you are closing your account entirely, see Account deletion.
Resuming your subscription
If you cancel and change your mind, you can resume while you are still in the grace period (before the cancellation date).
- Go to Settings > Subscription at
/settings/subscription. - In the cancellation banner or on the plan card, select Resume.
- Your subscription returns to normal and will renew on its usual schedule. No new checkout is needed.
If the cancellation date has already passed and your subscription has ended, the Resume option is no longer available. To start again, choose a plan under Choose a plan on the same page and subscribe again. As long as you do this before the data deletion date, your website data is restored.
Managing billing in Stripe
For tasks beyond canceling, such as updating your payment method or downloading invoices, select Manage in Stripe on the Subscription page. This opens the secure Stripe customer portal for your account.
